When in L.A., do as Seattle?

Dear Solar Fred,

I’m up here in Seattle where there’s enough rain to choke a fish, but I didn’t realize we could still have cost effective solar up here until I saw this video. Please share.

Thanks for sharing, Sonny. As you noted in the video below, coastal, cloudy areas can still benefit from Solar, whether that’s Seattle or Santa Barbara or San Francisco. A key factor in making solar dollars really count is reducing your energy use first. That means using energy efficient appliances, compact florescent bulbs throughout your house, and efficient heating and cooling air and water. All of these things pay for themselves very quickly.
